Should my stock honda cd player play burnt music on CD-R?

it can work, with certain cd-r discs. but too much of playing them in it will ruin your cd player, then you cant work normal cd's, or burnt. i did that, and didnt have a cd player for a while, but i had a 60,000 mile warranty, so they fixed that for me. :)
