BTW, take some 800 grit sand paper, put it on a block, adn wet sand the letters down to polished metal...thats how i've always done mine....and i dont know what paint you used, but i would suggest using Duplicolors High Heat Engine Paint w/ Ceramic....use the clear coat, put 2 or 3 coats on it...it'll last forever!!!! see, this is 3 yrs after it was painted

yep thats what i used and thanks for the advice on the letters, im going to redo it probably this coming weekend anyway because there are some spots that didn't come out great so im taking it off sanding it down again and repainting

the vaseline bit gets messy......put your color coat down...let it cure for 7 days....wet sand the letters down to metal...then clear spray.....key to LASTING finish...let the clear cure for the 7 days before installing...the heat will get it if you dont wait!

meh, i'd be worried about wetsanding the rest of the paint that way. That's why i used vasoline on mine. I just let it dry overnight and wiped it off the letters in the morning. worked good for me, but to each is own. :p

You could probably get the Beetle radiator easily if you lived up here. There's a Volkswagen-only parts store like 15 miles from my house.

As for the Vette wiper motor...no idea...

You're right on the year, but the Vette's been around longer...since 1953 to be exact...

and as much as i hate ot admit it.....Matt for the Win...the Ford Mustang is the longest running American Sports Model in production....they didnt make the Vette in production in 1983 Ben, therefor causing a break in the chain. The Mustang has been produced non stop since 1964. but look at it like this, you learn somethin new everyday!!
