not sure if this is the right place to put it. but has anyone taken a lense off before? like the clear part on the headlight?

i notice this glue like stuff between the gap. im wondering how to take that off i guess???

I heard people throw them in the stove for a few seconds so the glue can loosen up so you can seperate the lense.

What do you want to do? Paint the inside or what?

ok cool. i will check it out when i get back. gotta go pick up me SI clusta. haha.

i also got a set of brand new headlights, but they are chrome as H-E double hockey sticks. i want to get this chrome-ish gunmetal paint and paint them like the ctr lights. thanks for the link. i will check it later.

cool cool. thanks again for that link. didnt think of heating it, but i feel worried still for the plastic lense being in the oven. i still need to find out the perfect paint though to look like the CTR ones. i heard there is a chrome type of gunmetal gray. but i got my SI cluster from this guy. just found out my temp gauge wasnt working though. he says it worked when he pulled it out. so maybe i will mess with that first.

i think i left my taillights in the oven for about 5 min at a time at 300 degrees. lenses were fine, hot but fine. the glue metls way before the plastic lens will.

anyone here have any experience, or have seen a paint very similar to a gunmetal chrome, just like my link. where the housing will have a shinyness to it like you see in the link? im having problems finding some. i found a chrome paint can, with a gray top, but im not sure if that would be what i want.

Duplicolor makes a chrome spray paint. You might buy a can and test it before using it on headlights. A good wet sand and buff may increase its shine. Doubt it will have a mirror finish though.
