I was recently offered one of those partial sponsorships for $12,000. The one where you have to pay $80 up front for them to draft a contract....

Well normally I wouldnt have done it, but it was a company that I have delt with several times and had great experiences with, so I figured why not. It turns out the $80 is completely tax deductable b/c it goes to a charity, so I will be getting that back. There really arent any hidden catches either. All I have to do is attend at least 4 shows/events a year and have their stickers on my car(which are about the same size and the HSO stickers). I get up to 55% off parts and labor for up to $12,000 a year. So far everything has been great. I have recieved follow up calls and they are very prompt with mailing everything. I can start getting parts as soon as I sign the contract, so hopefully over the summer I'lll be seeing quite a few new additions.

another friend that i work with has gotten the same contract from SCP and those were the compnays he got to choose from. but also congrats on the sponsorhsip.

hay, i was just wondering, how dose someone get a sponsership?? can you apply, or do they just see your ride and talk to you about it? where do you go so they can see your ride?

thanks for any answers

Go to shows, autocrosses, HPDEs, road racing events and make sure your car is in good condition.

You have to figure out what you want to do with your car before you try to get sponsors. I prefer to fly solo and pay for everything myself because I do not want anyone else giving me limits and rules to follow on my own car.

I'd accept a sponsorship from a wheel/tire manufacturer, but that's probably the only type of sponsorship I'd accept.

yeah basicclly just be active with your car. go to shows and events. you can talk to companies, or if your car is extremely nice big name companies will come to you.
