Just wanted some advice. I was wondering if a performance exhaust manifold would make much difference to the sound and the bhp of my car. Also would i be better off getting a high flow K&N replacement panel air filter. Or an induction kit.

I own the Battle Stage DVD, and have playing cards for both the US and Japanese versions of the game, LOL! I was just at JGTC USA a couple weekends ago here in So. Cali, and they had a couple Highway Patrol Cameros drifting it up there, it was crazy! S2000's are good drift cars though, but ONLY the '03's and older versions, the new version has a jacked up balance for drift due to how Honda redid the suspension on it because of it's tendancy to spinout on tracks. In the D1GP and Formula D circuit, Alex Pheiffer drives the insanely tuned RS*R S2000 and does quite well in it. It's the only S2k on the drift circuit right now though, you know how them drifters love their Hachi Rokus and Silvias, lol!

Geez, I hope not the Si got taken in this case. :'( Yeah, street racing is for idiots plain and simple. That's why I keep it to the track and auto-X courses. When people ask me my times, I gladly tell them "in the 60's depending on course length..." hahaha! They look so damn confused. I've never timed my car in the quarter, nor do I have any plans to. Straight lines are for people with little if any driving skill. Anyways, some people like that Accord will never learn.

He kept trying to race me at least 4 times, even after i beat his automatic by like 8 car lenths, Why do people do this? Have they heard of a Race Track? It took me getting pulled over 4 times to realize street racing can take me to jail and worst of all .......................................take away my CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found out about this site but unfortunately i crashed my integra gsr. I know have a 98 four door accord that moves despite its weight with only an intake, header and exhaust and im sure it could take ur si if i swapped in a h22. H22s are not to be underestimated. I'll be buying another integra gsr or an h22a engine to swap in. All i need is four months and she'll be ready. you say H22s are slow.. i got a friend with a 93' accord with an H22 n/a running low 14's and you have an si with i/h/e and your still only running high 15s, that sucks. My B18A1 with a stock intake and no exhaust ran 14s without turbo. You suck at dragging I guess because I bet I could get your car into the 14's

I was just reading in R&T magazine last night, that '06 will be the end of the road for the S2k, with no replacement in sight as of yet... :( They claim it to be due to a sales slump of S2000's... Hey man, can't argue with that, I love 4 bangers as well, imports for life, ehh? ;p Brand new, there's no real reson why an NSX should be $90k+, I mean geez, thing only cost $60k brand new back in '91 and '92. Upping the power by 20hp isn't worth $30k more, wtf? But used, they are good deals if you get an earlier model, but yes, the S2k almost matches it's performance at 2/3rd less of a price, now THAT'S a deal! The WRX is nice, but unless you're getting an STi (DAMN that car is fast too!) I'd stick with the S2k plan by far! The WRX while factory turbo and AWD, skimps out by 13hp, and I'm sure isn't as quick factoring in the power loss from the AWD drivetrain.

True that about the S2k. Si = fastest USDM Civic. Fastest ever lest we forget the Civic Type-R that we all strive to imitate in at least looks if nothing else. ;-) But even that one lacks the torque. The S2k is a track car, and that's what it was built for and around, so it's got power right where it needs it, finally a motor that Honda got right (unless you include the NSX). On that note, early 90's NSX's are in the sub $30k region, did you ever consider one, and if so, why the S2k over an NSX?

But im 21 and im tired of all the 16, 17, and 18 year olds saying hey Wow is that an Si, wow is that a b16? Dude its not a Lamborghini!!! Its a civic and unfortunatly like all civics ever made factory they lack alot of torque and power, S2000 on the other hand is for the older crowd, alot of kids on here dream that they can afford one, Im not rich by any means, but I got a job and always get what i want, s2000 has 240hp, has a 4cylinder engine, and has plenty of torque, not to mention its rear wheel drive, Im not gonna hot rod it, the car is EYE CANDY, ill put a lip kit on it lower it and put in a spoon cold air intake, and after like a year ill sell it, I get bored of cars, im 21 and I already owned 3 vehicles, especially civics everybody and their mom has one. I will get an S2k by summer time! later!

Hey, if you love your SI why do you want to get rid of it so badly? I do understand that an s2k is a beautiful car, but think of it this way. Not only is your SI a car, but also it has your heart in it. First of all you love it and that is the key to everything. Secondly you've put what looks like a ton of time, effort, and money into making you SI exactly what you want. Granted it's not to the point of perfect for you yet, but that is the beauty, you are able to continue to tweak it and create your perfection and you'll grow to love it that much more. Will you miss it when it's gone? Don't forget - you never miss a good thing till it leaves you. I'd love to talk with you more about it I'll email you sometime about it and we can talk some more!!

Oh I'm not sure, no more than 120 I'd guess. Not yet at least. ;) But it's quick on the auto-X courses, though power isn't much factor there so that's not a good example really. I believe S/C is better than turbo, because it can't be boosted enarly as high for one, and it's easier and less stress on the internals than a turbo as well. Benifits are NO turbo lag, and a more linear delivery of the extra power it makes, rather than a boggy start and then all the sudden, BAM!

No I havent sold the Si yet, I will soon, hopefully, I am planing to get a yellow s2k maybe a red, or i might turbo charge the Si i dont really know...later.

We can't do them directly ourselves. Email the site admins, and they can help you out. That's cool about the headlights though, if I hadn't gotten the deal I did on mine, I'd have got with the knock offs too or something. Yeah, I hept my originals as well, I want to experiment with IS300 HIDs in them, I saw a guy that did it oncve, and hands down, knocks the socks off ANY upgrade HID kit, and looks very factory too in terms of light pattern output.



If I got an S2k, I'd HAVE to get it in either Silverstone Metallic or Sazuka Blue. But hey, any S2k is better than no S2k, lol! How are you gonna go with it? Mugen, Spoon or Comptech in terms of style.

Out of curiosity, are your headlights genuine JDM STanleys, or are they JDM style? I ask because I don't see a city light inside them, and your's appear to have a clear reflector in the signal part, where as the JDMs don't have a reflector at all. Also yours still have the bulb shield it looks like, and JDMs don't. Only asking since I have genuine JDM housings myself. ;)



In any event, how's the S2000 search going? It's gotta be hard I'd imagine to find a nice one for a good price. I know of a guy local to me selling his '94 NSX (granted it's one of 66 very rare automatics for that year) for a little under $29k. Not too shabby for a semi built auto-X "exotic."

VTEC. there is no H on the end. I saw it. Ironically that's the 2nd one I've seen like that. There was a lime green Civic on the HIN circuit traveling with Team Hybrid, it's was a hatchback with current gen. Mustang Tails, some crazy widebody kit, and I think RSX headlights? I just remember the tails, and how he had the "GT" badge on the hatch lid, wtf? haha!



I agree, if a car is Japanese, leave it JDM, why make it Americanized? It's weird about CA LA area here, RHD cars are so common here now that last night I was stopepd at a light next to an EG RHD hatch and didn't even realize it till my passenger was all like "hey, that guy is driving on the wrong side of the car..." haha, I was like "yeah, that's nothing new..."

Never had the pleasure to drive an EVO yet, but in due time. I'd love to drive a Lotus Elise though, guy in my auto-X club just bought one, I should see it run next weekend! :D Bah, 5.0's are over rated, loud but not the best. A good Mustang (that not many know about) was the mid 80's Mustang SVO fastback. 4 cylinder, and QUICKER than the 5.0 that proceeded it a few years later. Onto the Si's. Yeah, Oregon is different than Cali, not nearly the scope of an import scene as CA has, and Honda knows that, they wouldn't have shipped half the Si's here if that wasn't the case. ITR's are all too common too, and S2k's. I'm not saying played out, but they are as common as Ford Taurus's is what my point is.

The EVO RS is a good bang for buck, cheaper, comes with a rear AND front helical LSD, and it's stripped down for weight reduction. Si's aren't that rare. Better put, they are only as rare as where you live. ;) Here in So. Cali half of the 6th gens around are Si. In fact, I believe it's documented that 60% of the EBP Si's made were shipped to and sold in CA. I won't get into the SOHC argument again, but it's not even a fraction as weak as people think. Funny that people can take time to build up a swap, but won't bother paying LESS to explorer the true limits of a SOHC. Must be too challeneging for them. All in all, good luck on the car search. I myself am starting to settle down with my car, and the models I have in mind to settle down with is an IS300, EVO RS, andthe Volvo S40 AWD. Whatever car I get next, it'll either be AWD, or RWD. **** My alltime favorite imports, acura type R 2001, civic si 2000, love the way both look when purchased from the factory, i especially love the lip kit and the motors, lets face it sohc is a really weak motor i say this cuz i had a 96 civic, engine swaps help but are to spending and not everyone knows how to do a legit swap., I love the Si, it came out for only 2 years, some what rare, looks sick as hell only 3 colors out, best part the engine the smallest of the b series but is only like .2 seconds slower than the GSR, 160hp stock and yess the red line @ 8000 rpm, yess 8000rpm, v tech screams loud as hell at 5 and a 1/2 rpm, insane car................ But im 21 need somthing for the older crowd, i want to buy a 2000 - 2003 S2000, great car, or a 2003 EVO8, or an Sti 2004, these are best cars that are out right now, Im tired of all the 15, 16, 17 year old kids saying wow is that an si, wow is it quick, Im older and wanna get class and still be quick as hell, lets face it honda civics are not that quick maybe if u have all your last pennies put into it, So my si is going for sale. Im sure some 18 year old kid will buy it, im looking for a Evo8 more than any other car hopefully ill find a good deal, Later everyone...

Amen to that, we're all Honda fans. Ehh, my ride is quick where it counts to me, and that's in the curves and turns. That's why I built up my suspension before really all else. I'm not into drag, so a swap would really just be a waste to me, weight and cost wise. I won't knock on a B-series, because that's definitely the motor to have if you plan on racing in a straight line. LS/VTEC or some sort of hybrid particularly. But when I squeeze 40-50 more hp out of my D16, I'll get great satisfaction knowing it's a built D and took effort to create, much more fulfilling than just swapping and calling it a day.

It's not too hard if you know the right parts to get. 140whp is pretty obtainable from a SOHC D-series with about a $1500 budget. Cheaper than a swap, and N/A power.

Actually I have Type-R style lips on my car, well the front at least, I have the rear lip, but I gotta fit it and drill out the holes for it, then get it painted to match the car so I can put it on, the Si lips weren't as aggressive enough looking to me I thought, and they were both discontinued by the factory anyways.

As for lowering, this is as low as I want to go, otherwise I'll start having serious camber problems, not to mention Tein coilovers only drop the rear a max of "2.1 inchs, and right now I'm about 4 threads from the bottom, so I can't go much lower really. I used to be lower before I got stiffer upgrade springs, but stiffer means they sit a little higher. Good compremise for slot car like handling. ;)

i will update more pics later, and for the first time gonna run it on the track, this weekend i will post my 1/4 mile times.

Good start on your Si coupe there. A couple parts in your engine list I'd put in the suspension list instead. Anywho, keep up the good work on the car, looks good!
